‘GOD IS IN THE DETAIL’ – Stephanie Sandercock.
120 cm x 120 cm acrylic & gold leaf on wooden panel.
Painting of a sound wave from a recording of the saying “God is in the detail”.
DESCRIPTION
There is a crack in between the black and white, where grey delivers a space for hope, unity and understanding.
Within the grey area, seven coloured threads of cotton weave through the sound wave to represent the meanings behind our words.
Our communication, like colourful threads vibrate out into the universe. There is gold in the black and the white and the grey. There is gold inside us all.
God is… In The Detail
“ In the beginning was the word
And the word was with God
And the word was God “
Our thoughts and words are creative
The painting shows a sound wave of the spoken words –
“ God is in the detail ”
We live in a world of duality
Up, down
Yes, no
Black, white
Wrong and right
Past and future
But right here and now
We are being given the present
It looks black and white
Then you notice the grey
The gap in between
Where creation sparks
A crack of hope
Space for understanding
Unity
God is… in the detail
There’s a rainbow in the grey
Colourful threads weaving their way
And there is gold in the day
And gold in the night
Gold in the black
And gold in the white
We are all in the being
And we are being in the all
In the is-ness of everything
Great and small
God is the yes
And the no
And the maybe
God is… everything
Not the absence of anything
But the inclusion of all
Near and far
Within us, outside of us
Anything and everything
The always, evermore
