‘Gwithian’ commission has been collected and now in it’s new home see below.

The painting now sits under a skylight in the steel stairway of a beautifully designed underground home. Unseen from all angles apart from a doorway into what appears to be a grassy hillside. Only from above can a courtyard be seen leading to a beautiful secluded home.

The owner and architect, with his wife, a lover of rocks like myself, found me in my little gallery shop in Whites Old Workshops, St. Ives last year and fell in love with the textures and vivid colours of my new work. They commissioned me to paint this 150 cm tall painting on aluminium to include pretty pieces of natural mica crystals, to catch the light as you walk by.

We chatted about colours, textures and the space where the finished painting would hang. I sent works in progress photos and videos and when it was time to collect, the couple stayed in a beach house at Gwithian, from where most of my inspiration comes from.

I’m so thrilled to have made them something bespoke that they love so much!
